Epoxy coatings seal and protect concrete surfaces and can be used to provide a particular surface finish. Epoxy coatings can be roll-coats, self-levellers, chemical-resistant coatings, non-slip finishes or a combination of these properties.
Epoxy flooring can also refer to a thick mix of epoxy resin and aggregates applied by trowel or screed to create falls to waste, coving and other features.

Food Grade Flooring

If neglected, expansion joints are often the first point of failure, leading to:

Wall-to-floor coving is an essential requirement in Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and other high hygiene environments. Coving eliminates the corners where dirt gets trapped, and prevents liquid ingress to the joint where wall and floor meet.
It also plays a critical role in waterproofing applications, moving water away from the wall materials and the joint of wall and floor.

High Friction Surfacing
High friction surfaces are designed to prevent slips by pedestrians and to increase traction for machinery and vehicle traffic. The extra traction is usually created with an aggregate protruding from a base coat of resin, adhesive or cement.
Buses and trucks accelerate and brake on the slopes of ramps, bridges and hills dropping oil, diesel, and rubber shreds which act as lubricants. Container lifters and trucks loading cargo ships at ports must contend with steel ramps often covered in oil and greasy sea-spray.
The tight, steep ramps of parking structures are rapidly worn smooth and slippery by the high shear forces exerted on the concrete by vehicular traffic. Tow-trucks and low loaders haul heavy machinery up steel ramps.

Heat and Thermal Shock Resistant Flooring
Heat resistant flooring involves materials and surface preparation designed specifically for extreme temperatures or sudden changes in temperature. This can be necessary when traditional floor materials and even concrete fail under the demands of temperature and traffic.
These materials are often used for large commercial freezers, steel mills, under and around ovens, and hot wash down areas. Material selection is critical to resist the effects of long term exposure to the temperature.
Thermal shock is also important. When the temperature changes suddenly the material on the surface – usually the floor coating – will expand or contract as it rapidly heats or cools. Material further from the surface will take longer to respond to the change, expanding or contracting more slowly.
The difference in the rates of expansion or contraction puts stress on the bond between the two materials. With the wrong materials or preparation, this stress can lead to cracking or delamination.
