The client approached Australasian Specialty Coatings about a 1270SQM² section of floor that needed to be ground back, 4mm thick & sealed to prevent long-term damage to the substrate whilst providing a smooth surface for plant machinery in day-to-day operations.
The floor was prepared using diamond grinders to ensure a strong bond & remove the remaining bumps & chemicals on the floor.
The cracks were cut, jackhammered & vacuumed.
Mortar was then poured into the cracks to level out the floor.
A 4-part poly cement was then poured onto the prepared concrete and installed with a 4mm thickness to protect the concrete in the future. The sand was then used to broadcast the floor.
The next day, the floor was vacuumed and the top coat was applied to seal the polycement.
The project took 5 weeks to complete, working around production areas, shutdowns, demolition and equipment installation.
The team hit every deadline and accommodated every change of plan, ensuring the flooring works never held up the equipment installation & other trades.
